Two Years

Love,

Two years ago it was a Saturday and not a dreadful Monday. We were in Monterey and I was buzzing with excitement, anticipation and even a little stress hoping the day would proceed as planned. You were probably calm and collected, as you usually are.



I remember gathering all the wedding related "stuff" and trekking over to the Old Whaling Station to make bouquets, set up a candy buffet and get beautiful ... for you.


I remember getting in my dress and my mom helping me with my veil and, at that moment, having a calm wash over me...


This was the day I had hoped for since I first got to know you and my innocent 15 year old crush began. This was the day we had planned for over a year. This is the day that all of our loved ones traveled far and wide for.

This day was our day and it would be perfect.




I remember feeling a giddy nervousness walking down the isle ... it was such a long walk down the stairs and I was afraid I might trip but my dad held on tight, grabbed my dress, and said "it's time" and I knew I was safe heading towards you - my love, my future.


I remember our readings ... Here, There and Everywhere from you to me ... Push from me to you ... and Bridge Over Troubled Water for us - perfect in every way.

I remember squeezing your hand when I knew that Rams was about to pronounce us husband and wife.

I remember you and me on the beach in Carmel and how you kept telling me how beautiful I was and how I kept stealing your kisses.

I remember this day... our wedding day... the day my life began as a Feusahrens ... perfect in every way.

I've always felt that there are people out in the world that are destined to find each other because for one reason or another they complete our own individual souls and make them complete.

Geoff, you are my other half ... you can make my blood boil, and my head ache but you also make my heart shine and my soul smile... and you are the only one who has that power. I love you with all I have.

Contemporary-Vintage??

I saw these posters on Unplggd and I adored them. They were designed by a Sao Paula ad agency called Moma. I love the look and feel of vintage advertisements and I love that Moma used this design for such contemporary social media programs. I mean back when this style of design was prominent social media wasn't even a glimmer on the horizon! Just adore the wittiness! I may even print them, distress them, and hang them in our house!

Weekend Love

I know I have been a horrible blogger lately and there really is no excuse . . . Yes, I have been busy, but one of my goals was to document more and, alas, I have failed miserably. Oh well. I guess this means my blogging can only improve.

Anyway I felt that this past weekend definitely deserved a post (even if I have no pictures) for it was a very momentous weekend. Why? Well because my eldest niece, Hanna, left for college (she's the first of the 'little ones' to go) and not just any college - she left for CAL!!!!!!!!!!!! Geoff's alum :) We are both very excited for her!

If that wasn't enough, there's more! My dearest hubs was in a tennis tournament this past week (he hasn't played since HS) and he won!! I am so proud of him!! He had games every night last week and then on Saturday and Sunday he had three games in a row. He really worked hard and it truly paid off :) He won his 3.0 singles round and his 3.0 doubles and came in second for his 3.5 doubles.

And last, but certainly not least ... my dad's birthday was on Saturday!! I know I have said this before, probably many times before, but my dad is amazing. He is always there when you need him and he drops everything to help us (and my siblings too) when we have one crisis or another. He's fixed our sprinklers too many times than I can count, he helped paint our entire house when we first moved in, he crafted us our amazing entertainment system, and the list can go on and on. To celebrate him we gathered for drinks and dinner at my parents. We were all there (except the college bound one) and it was the perfect way to end a wonderful weekend.

Worries

I'm sitting here at work on a formerly furlough Friday to read about the Governor's recent order. Federal minimum wage for all state workers. This equivalates to $1227 before taxes for our monthly salary which is well, well, well below what Geoff and I are used to.

I am stressed.

I am angry.

I am disappointed.

I am super, duper stressed. Did I mention that already??

I know there are loans with low interest rates and, luckily, we have very supportive family and friends but that doesn't really ease the sick feeling I have in my stomach. I hate feeling like a pawn in some stupid political game and I hate that I have no voice or say to what happens to my income.

And then someone posted this on facebook:




I was amazed.

I was inspired.

I was hopeful.

I still am super duper stressed.

But I know that things could be a lot worse for us. We have each other, we have our pups, we have the most amazing support system, we have love, hope, courage and strength.

So from now on I will try to have no worries . . .
