My friend Danielle decided to take a stab at this month's photo a day challenge and I decided to join her! I'll be taking my photos via Instagram and posting on FB but my plan is to post on the blog too. I'm shooting for daily postings but I'll be happy with weekly ...let's see if I can pull it off!!
Thanks to my parents, Geoff and I swapped our old bed for a new and much larger bed...we went from a Queen to a California King and - OMG - it is pure bliss!! The sad thing was we didn't have bedding for our larger love so it sat looking like a pile of blanket mishap for...not one week...not one month...not one year...nope, it was a blanket mishap for well over a year!! Yikes!
I know, I know...it's horrible to not have a nice put-together bed but Cal King bedding can be pricey and we had other priorities...but this all changed last night...
I went to one of my favorite stores - Good Ol' TJ Maxx - just to peruse..ya know...see what's out there that I may HAVE to replenish my wardrobe with...and lo and behold I found this Cynthia Rowley set for cheap, cheap! Alas they only a queen size quilt and the round pillow. So I bought the round pillow and set off for the other store around my area hoping to find the quilt...unfortunately, store #2 didn't have anything - not.one.item...so off I went to the third and last store hoping that I would have luck...and luck was in my corner!! Phew! Not only did I snag the last quilt in the store but it just happened to be the right size and I was able to snag three shams too!
I must say I am in love with our bedding and it fits in with my vintagey-eclectic style perfectly! I would like to can a couple smaller accent pillows so I'll keep my eyes peeled for the perfect ones but all-in-all I am one happy gal!
My little nephew, Bowen, decided to come a little early... actually a lot early... due towards the end of May but he decided he'd rather be an Easter star! He's a small bundle of joy and has to remain in the NICU for three weeks but all in all is doing very well. Geoff and I have affectionately deemed him "Bowie" after the great Ziggy Stardust...Mr. David Bowie himself. Personally, I think it's perfect as he made such a rock star appearance!
