Anthro inspiration to re-create. I think I can, I think I can . . .

I'm doing it!

Yes friends it's official (well, somewhat official) I'm going to put my creativity to good use!! After much prompting from friends and family I have decided to take a stab at starting my very own (on the side) business where I will create beautifully unique custom cards, announcements, invitations, etc. And just in case you thought I was pulling your chain . . . here's my logo to prove it!!

San Francisco's loss

It's sad to know that the ever so popular Pier 39 sea lions are no more, well at least not on Pier 39. The sea lions have moved upward and onward and are inhabiting another touristy place - the sea lion caves on the Oregon Coast. Though the reason for the sudden relocation is not known, some biologists think it has to do with the El Nino change in temperatures causing the food (and sea lions) to travel to cooler waters up north.

I know I'll miss the cute little buggers!

New hair for a new year

Last year (before our wedding) I convinced my love to cut off about 15 inches of his beloved long, freeing, hippie-lovin' hair. This was a huge accomplishment and I loved how he looked with a shorter do.

Now, with management positions in sight he decided (on his own) that he needed a shorter, still somewhat freeing, business minded style.

With that intro, I'll let the pictures do the talking . . .

Isn't he a handsome one? I'm a lucky gal! And no matter what the length of his hair - I love him with all I have.

Here a shutter, there a shutter, every window has a shutter!

One of the best gifts (if not the best) we received for Christmas was shutters for our humble abode! I have been wanting shutters since we bought the house - just to give it a little extra touch. And when I asked for them for Christmas, it was a crazy idea (much to pricey) and I never gave them another thought. So when I opened this oddly wrapped gift on Christmas morning I was so surprised! You see, I forgot how handy-dandy my pop is and that he can create almost anything for a fraction of the cost! Yes, my friends, he built us our shutters! Yahoo!

No for the color debacle. I love colors -bright, vivid, colorful, colors! So I thought a deep burgundy would look very nice against our grey home, however, my hubs, being much more understated and conservative with colors, did not. Geoff (not being very keen on the whole shutter idea in the first place) put his foot down on my burgundy shutter filled dream. He wanted a more muted and, in his words, not so stand-outish color. After toying around with the color black, and a little insight from my dad, we decided on Navy. And though it's not as vivid as I originally thought I wanted - I love it so much more!!

Color Vases

I had a void in our kitchen. A blank space next to our house plants and it needed something - something with color. I also had vases, four vases that I never used. So I made a colorful arrangement.

When the sun shines through the windows it's stunning!

New Years Games

New Years Eve was very chilled and very relaxing . . . what's that new term . . . chillaxing . . . hmm, maybe. Anyway we had our best buds over for a night of games, pizza, drinks and celebrations. It was a blast!
