We've been engaged now for 6 months a 13 days (to be exact) as Geoff proposed to me on July 20th - My Birthday! It was such a surprise for me because all the "secret planning" that he was doing, I thought was for my birthday.
- The late night shopping adventures - for birthday presents (he told me I had 5) a.k.a finalizing the perfect ring.
- Getting up and walking out of the room while on the phone - for planning purposes - ok well this was for planning purposes.
- And the oh-so-clever - "I can't take the day off of work and spend the day with you because I have a huge project" - a.k.a. I am taking the day off to tidy up last minute details, travel to see your parents to ask them for their daughter's hand in marriage, and to keep my cool.
The night was perfect, truly. We boarded a yacht on the Sacramento River with my brother and his girlfriend. We sailed into the sunset while I opened gifts, drank wine and enjoyed the scenery. Then Geoff asked me if I wanted my medium sized gift or my small gift and I told him to pick it out. He disappeared down the stairs and when he returned he told me I only had one gift and he preceded to get on his knee and opened a box to reveal . . .

Oh yes, I was breathless! I wish my camera would take a great close up on my finger, but alas it's always blurry.
OK to continue with the story . . . I can't remember exactly what he said during his heart felt speech because I was in a state of shock - a wonderful shock - but he ended with "I can't image my life without you in it and I never want to, will you spend the rest of your life with me?"
Yes, Yes, Yes!!! or maybe it was Of Course!! I can't remember that either - shock - it's a terrible state of mind!
